I’ve never considered using the iPad as a camera — though in theory the 5Mpx sensor should be fine for the usual cell-phone-type snappery.

But I was sitting out on the deck yesterday and the mood seized me. So I opened an app called Blux Camera that I’ve had for a while but never used — it still wore the little red “New” banner, the App Store equivalent of shrink-wrapping. And I fiddled with the settings, took one shot by mistake (it seems to show my hand groping for a comfortable hold) and then this one. All the processing was done in-app at the moment of shooting — I didn’t touch it afterward. Really I’m kind of amazed.
